I was tagged by Jill at Rant and Rave about Books for the Scavenger Hunt Book Tag. Thanks very much Jill; I really appreciate it! If you haven’t already come across Jill’s blog, then I urge you to take a look at it – it’s really great! This is a really interesting tag, so I’m really pleased to have been tagged to do it. It’s very unusual compared to some of the other tags out there, so I’m sure it’s going to be a fun one to do! Hope you all enjoy this post!
Find a book with the letter ‘Z’ in it’s title or author’s name:
All My Secrets – Sophie McKenzie
As you can see, the ‘Z’ is in the author’s name. I haven’t actually had chance to read this book yet, but I’m looking forward to it. I have read another book by the same author and it was quite good, so I am expecting it to be quite good.
Find me a classic book:
Northanger Abbey – Jane Austen
This is one of my favourite classic books; I love the gothic setting and the humour in the dialogue and also from the point of view of Jane Austen. It is also more eventful than the likes of Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre for me, which is why I love it so much.
Find the oldest book on your shelves:
Five Go Adventuring Again – Enid Blyton
My copy is from the 1940s so it’s quite old and unfortunately is now missing it’s beautifully artistic dust-wrapper, but I still treasure it. It’s a lovely children’s adventure story and I read it almost every Christmas!
Find a book with a key on it’s cover:
Tell us We’re Home – Marina Budhos
Another one that I haven’t read, but I liked the sound of it, so that’s why it’s got a place on my shelves! I also like the cover!
Find something on your shelves that isn’t a book:
My gorgeous squirrel bookends!
Aww, just look at them! They were a gift from my parents a couple of Christmases ago, and I just love them; they’re so cute and pretty.
Find a book with an animal on it’s cover:
Alice – Christina Henry
This book wasn’t what I expected at all. It has a gorgeous cover though (if slightly creepy!) but it’s very cute, still.
Find a book with a girl on it’s cover:
The Elite – Kiera Cass
Guess what I just bought?! The next two books in The Selection series: The Elite and The One – yey! It’s another nice cover and I’m anticipating finding out what happens next in the series.
Find a non-YA book:
The Kite Runner – Khaled Hosseini
A book I haven’t yet read because it sounds so sad!
Find a book with stars on it’s cover:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – J.K.Rowling
❤ this book! And now my little sister who is ten years old is really into the Harry Potter books, too, and she is flying through the series. It’s so nice to share thoughts about them with her!
I’m tagging:
**Feel free to ignore this if you’ve already received the award.**
I love this tag! So glad you got a chance to do it.
You really should read The Kite Runner. It’s incredible. I prefer A Thousand Splendid Suns..but that one is even more sad.

I’m so glad you did this tag. It was a lot of fun finding books for each one. Nice book ends. And I never wouldn’t noticed the stars on HP. Nice find on that one. 😉

The Kite Runner is such a good book! It’s really sad, but so worth the read. I wouldn’t recommend watching the movie, but do give the book a read 🙂 And The Mountains Echoed is also great

Hey! I also have a 10 year old sister and I want her to read the Harry Potter books, is your sister gonna read ALL the books in the series or only some of them?

Hi! Aw, really? Well my sister is on the sixth book: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and she definitely wants to finish the series (and then start them all over again, haha)! I hope your sister enjoys them if she reads them. 🙂

What a fun tag! It’s fun to explore our own bookshelves sometimes, it’s all too easy to forget what we’ve actually got hiding away in there…! 🙂
